It's all about music and the magic of sound...
Back from the Dutch Mason Blues Festival… it was a blast… I met lots of amazing people… I got there on Wednesday and helped set up the staging and sound system… Then I worked every shift backstage doing change overs… The high point of the festival for me was watching Lucas Nelson… He tore the place up with all his energy… and I ended up doing the sound for the after hours beer tent jams… lots of great players at the jams… most of the James Cotton Band, Garret Mason, Joe Murphy and many more… lots of fun was had by all… :)
I got back 2 days ago from working the Evolve Music Festival in Antigonish, Nova Scotia… Man… am I tired… I was there for a week laying out the camp sites… parking… and access roads… I also set up and organised the vendors…
It was a party of epic proportions… The music and special effects were amazing… The people were so peaceful and loving… everyone took care of one another… I made some new friends… :)
I’ve been playing with a flat pick for over 40 years… about a year ago I decided to try finger picking… I found that I just moved the fingers around until I started hearing something I liked… and then I tried to refine it… Just repeat the most simple 2 or 3 chord thing over and over until you play through the feeling of it being boring and repetitive… You will start to hear things happening in there that you can strive for… take those sounds you like and work on them… and don’t watch your picking hand… Just do it and don’t tell yourself you can’t… it’ll come… :)
A beautiful Tune for a beautiful woman… :)
Happy Sunday… :)
Twenty fingers… Two guitars… One idea…
This is fun… I love playing with sounds that get inside and move my whole body… :)
I’m using a Kaossilator Pro here… It’ given me another way of approaching the creative process…
I usually don’t use loops… but this unit makes it easy to play a phrase, loop it, play something else, loop it and come back to an earlier looping phrase and pick it up and run with it…
It’s lot’s of fun… I think everyone should try one… :)
Something new I’m working on… :)
